Experienced midfielder Onyango joins on a season-long deal from Bidco United
Mathare United is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Jacob Onyango, who will wear the famous yellow and green for the 2025/2026 season.
Yobo, as he is affectionately referred to by his peers, joins from Bidco United.
The central midfielder becomes our second signing of the season, after John Macharia and brings a wealth of experience to John Kamau’s team.
On joining the club, the midfielder spoke of his ambitions, including winning the ultimate prize in Kenyan football. He said, “My ambition is to win the Premier League. It is not easy but certainly not impossible.”
Apart from Bidco United, who he has represented in two separate stints, Onyango has also featured for other top tier clubs namely Nairobi City Stars, Ulinzi Stars and the now-defunct Nakumatt FC.
