The lads are back in action on Wedneday as they welcome Shabana FC at the Nyayo Stadium starting from 4 pm.
It will be Daglas Mokaya’s first match against Shabana, whom he left when he joined us during the January transfer window.
“I am excited, of course, and I hope I get to play. Playing against a team you have previously played for brings excitement and also extra motivation to perform well.
“I know it will be a good game as both teams have different styles of play and the fans will enjoy it.”
The attacking midfielder hasn’t featured prominently since joining the club and has only started one game. He, however, acknowledges that a lack of game time at Shabana saw his fitness wane.
“I did not get to play much at Shabana, and that is why I opted for a change in mid-season. I know that fitness-wise, I am not at the level of my fitness, but I am working hard every day trying to catch up. The coach and everyone at the club have been so helpful and have made settling in really easy. “
Mathare has had a strong record against Shabana since the fixture was first reintroduced in the Premier League last season. John Kamau’s men earned four points against the Glamour Boys last term and in the reverse game this season, won 1-0 at the Gusii Stadium.
