Dominant Mathare undone by Hassan Abdalla’s penalty in last fixture of 2025

It was a disappointing end to the year for Mathare United, after John Kamau’s men lost by a solitary goal on Sunday to Bandari FC in their final fixture of 2025.
A Hassan Abdalla penalty in the first half proved enough to secure victory for the hosts at the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa and prolong the Slumboys’ search for their first run of back-to-back wins this term.
The loss left United 10th in the Premier League table with 18 points after 15 rounds of play.
The league will take a break for the year-end festivities after this weekend’s fixtures and will resume on the second weekend of January 2026, with the lads set to host Murang’a Seal on Saturday, 10th.
Sunday’s game was a special occasion, despite the outcome, for youngster Dennis Ng’ang’a, who earned his debut for the club, more than a year after he joined. The midfielder played 67 minutes as he also marked his first-ever appearance in the Premier League.
