First start for Oudu, Imbuye recalled to first 11 as Masika makes it to the bench

Mathare United will take on Gor Mahia in the late kick-off on Thursday in the Premier League, and the team news for the Round Six encounter has been released.

Peter Oudu will make his first start of the season against his former team and is deployed at the base of the midfield, replacing Steve Kimari, who starts the 4pm kickoff from the bench.

Oudu hasn’t been part of the team since being introduced as a substitute in the 2-1 loss to Posta Rangers in Round One.

He isn’t the only change made to the starting team from our last game against Shabana, nor is he the only player in the squad to have previously played for Gor. Jacob Onyango also returns to the starting XI and is deployed in support of Elli Asieche, who starts again in a false nine role.

Musa Masika is making his first appearance of the season after recovering from a knee injury

The other change is that of Sammy Imbuye, who returns in defence as John Kamau switches things up in the rearguard, opting for a back three.

Dennis Okoth, our match winner in Kisii, will be called up from a strong bench that also has Donald Ange, Derrick Anami and former Gor players Musa Masika and John Macharia. Masika has been passed fit after a knee injury and makes his first matchday appearance of the season.
