Fidel makes first appearance of the season at right back

Mathare United will take on Shabana FC in the Premier League on Sunday in Kisii, and the team news for the 2 pm kickoff has been revealed.

Fidel Otieno, who recently recovered from a fractured shin, makes his first matchday appearance of the campaign and starts at right-back. He replaces Sammy Imbuye, who drops to the bench.

Fidel Otieno suffered an injury to his shin during preseason.

Otieno, one of the longest-serving players in the team, lines up alongside Francis Kayugi, Ian Omondi and John Nyawir in defence, providing cover for Kevin Ouru in goal. Kayugi has also recovered from a shin injury that kept him out of the Slum Derby.

Brian Ouru, Steve Kimari, and Mohammed Kilume, who dons the armband, partner once again in an unchanged midfield.

Upfront, Dennis Okoth, signed from Shabana in the off-season, earns his first start of the campaign and leads our quest for goals. The young forward will have Meshack Ochieno and club top scorer Elli Asieche in support.

On the bench, there is a place for Donald Ange, who makes it to the matchday squad for the first time this season.
