Isaac Omweri and Mark Makwata score for Mathare in the 2-2 draw

A goal with virtually the last kick of the game at the Kasarani Stadium Annex saw Sofapaka FC deny Mathare United all three points as the two teams drew 2-2 in a Kenyan Premier League match played on Saturday.
Batoto Ba Mungu, who had opened the scoring inside the opening minute through former Mathare striker Meshack Ochieno, scored deep in stoppage time through Malick Ntamba to earn the point.
John Kamau’s men had responded superbly to falling behind so early and dominated the game, creating chance after chance and scoring their goals through Isaac Omweri and John Makwata on either side of halftime.
Despite the fightback, the draw was not enough for Sofapaka to continue with their fight for survival, and they now become the first team to confirm relegation this season, with four rounds left to play.
The Slumboys, on their part, are boosted by the result as they move six points clear of the drop after improving to 35 points.
Aside from being denied the win, United were dealt another blow as Musa Masika, who was instrumental on the afternoon, picked up what could be a season-ending injury after dislocating his shoulder.
Up next for the lads is a home match against APS Bomet on Saturday.
