Brian Ouru is enjoying his best scoring form for Mathare United and was again on the scoresheet on Sunday, as the lads played out a 1-1 draw with Murang’a Seal in Murang’a.
The midfielder, who netted his first brace in the Premier League in last weekend’s 4-1 hammering of AFC Leopards, scored in the 62nd minute to cancel out Michael Macharia’s opener that had come just six minutes earlier.
Ouru, signed from Naivas FC at the start of last season, has now scored two more goals than he managed in the whole of last season.
Though Sunday’s result continues the team’s quest for its first back to back streak of the season, the point earned keeps John Kamau’s men well on course to eclipsing last season’s points tally of 42. With nine games left to play, the lads have now racked up 30 points.
Following the weekend action, the league now takes a break for the first FIFA International window of the year and will resume in two weeks, with the lads hosting Kenya Police in Nairobi.
