Atano, 17, becomes our sixth signing this January

The club is delighted to confirm the signing of young defender Bilal Atano from Bandari FC.
The teenager becomes our sixth signing this January and has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
Atano found game time hard to come by at Bandari after graduating from the coastal outfit’s youth team, and upon signing with Mathare, confirmed this is one of the main reasons why he chose to leave his hometown for pastures new.
“I feel I am at a stage in my career where I need to play regularly. Leaving Bandari wasn’t easy, but it was a decision I had to make, and I am happy to make this step and join Mathare. I first spoke with Coach Kamau last season when Mathare played away to Banadri in Ukunda, and he spoke very kindly, giving me advice on things he felt I needed to improve on. He is also a big reason why I am here.”
The Serani Boys alumnus will link up with another new signing from Bandari, John Mark Makwatta, as well as John Macharia, who also played with the Dockers prior to joining the team at the start of the season.
