Asango ruled out for close to three months due to knee injury

Cetric Asango will not be with the squad for the remainder of the season’s first leg and possibly the start of the second leg after being diagnosed with an interstitial tear to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of his right knee.
The defender, who is in his third season with the team, started feeling discomfort in the area during preseason, but through coordinated strength training, he was able to start the season.
However, with only four matches played, the issue cropped up again with his last appearance being the matchday eight fixture against APS Bomet in Kericho.
Initially thought to be a full-blown ACL tear, this latest development is a sigh of relief for the 30-year-old as he avoids surgery, which would have led to him sitting out the rest of the campaign.
Now with toned-down active/aggressive training, Asango, who is one of the longest-serving players in the current squad, is expected to rejoin the rest of his teammates in 10 weeks.
