Gor Mahia beat Mathare United 2-0 on Thursday

John Kamau believes his charges should have gotten more out of Thursday’s Premier League match against Gor Mahia, as the result wasn’t a fair representation of how they played.
Returning to the MISC Kasarani Stadium for the first time since 2023, the lads suffered their third loss of the season as they went down 2-0.
After the match, this is what a visibly frustrated Kamau shared, “One thing I can say, in terms of performance, the boys have given a good account of themselves and probably should have gotten something from the game.
“We do, however, need to continue working as, again today, we allowed the opponent to score through our mistakes.”
With a win on Thursday, the lads would have moved up to second with 10 points, but now drop to eighth.
This start-stop start to the season has the gaffer frustrated, but he remains optimistic about what his team can achieve.
“It’s a work in progress, and to build something sustainable, it will take time. We will have to look into the market and try to improve on a few areas, but before then, we can make do with what we have.”
After Thursday’s game, the lads have just two days to prepare as they will be back in action on Sunday against AFC Leopards.
