Government announces seven days of mourning following death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga

Mathare United was set to travel to Kisii County this weekend to take on Shabana FC in the Premier League, but the game has since been postponed, along with other Round Five fixtures.

This comes after the declaration of seven days of National Mourning by the national government following the death of former Prime Minister H.E. Raila Odinga on Wednesday.

The lads were to make their first trip of the season out of Nairobi with the Shabana game, which should have marked the return to competitive action after a two-week international break.

The Shabana match will now be played on Sunday, October 26 at Gusii Stadium. As a result, our match against Gor Mahia, initially slated for Saturday, October 25, has now been moved to Thursday, October 30, at Kasarani Stadium.

After four rounds of play, John Kamau’s men have managed four points thanks to a 1-0 victory over KCB and a 0-0 draw with Tusker.
