Barren draw at Dandora takes our tally to four points from three matches

Mathare United moved up to fifth on the Premier League table on Wednesday after securing a point in a 0-0 draw with Tusker FC at the Dandora Stadium.
The point earned moved the team up to four points after three rounds of play. Our current league placing could, however, change as Round 3 is still in play.
John Kamau’s men took to the Dandora pitch, a venue they called home last season, for the first time in the current campaign and had a bright start with Paul Kinyanjui hitting the woodwork twice inside the opening 23 minutes. This is, however, as good as it would get for the Slumboys who struggled to create as the game wore on.
The hosts, who were looking for their first point(s) after starting the season with back-to-back defeats, also came close to opening the scoring in the first half courtesy of Eric Kapaito, who blasted a shot with his weaker left foot against the upright in the seventh minute.
In the second half, the Brewers plied most of the pressure, but they could not make it count due to their own doing and some expert defending from our backline, marshalled by Ian Omondi.

With back-to-back cleansheets to make it two games unbeaten, the lads now switch their attention to Sunday’s Slum Derby against Kariobangi Sharks.
