Asieche scores his second goal of the season to hand us first win

Captain Elli Asieche led from the front, his first half goal ultimately proving decisive in the 1-0 win over KCB on Friday at the Kasarani Annex.
Asieche curled a freekick past KCB custodian Boniface Munyasa in the 43rd minute to secure our first win of the season.
The result at the Kasarani Stadium Annex is the perfect response to our opening day defeat and moves us up to sixth in the standings with the rest of Round 2 matches still in play.
The gaffer made just one change to the team that started against Posta Rangers, with Jacob Onyango starting in an attacking midfield role to mark his debut.
It is, however, another new signing, Kevin Ouru, who received most of the plaudits after a stellar display in goal. The young goalkeeper, starting for the second successive game, made a host of saves to deny the hosts, who were coming off an opening-day win over Tusker.
The pick of the bunch for the custodian came in the 50th minute when a wicked header from Kelvin Etemesi in the pouring rain forced him, while outstretched, to tip the ball against the crossbar and away from danger.
Ouru’s day would, however, abruptly be cut short when a collision in the area with a KCB forward forced both players out as they needed extensive medical attention.
Robert Mboya would be introduced for the final quarter of an hour and made sure of the clean sheet and win that extends our unbeaten run against the Bankers to three games.
Herit Mungai, who won the freekick that led to the winner, was also forced off in the second half with a knock to his shin.
The lads now switch their attention to a midweek clash with Tusker on Wednesday, 1 October at the Annex.
