Okoth set to bolster attacking options for the 2025/2026 season

Dennis Okoth has penned a one-year deal with the club and becomes our sixth signing heading into the 2025/26 season

Mathare United is pleased to confirm that it has boosted its attacking options for the 2025/2026 season with the signing of striker Dennis Okoth.

The Ober Boys High School alumnus signs a one-year deal and becomes our sixth signing of the just-concluded transfer window.

Okoth, who hails from Mathare North, spent last season with Shabana, where he made his Premier League debut after joining from Tusker Youth.

With the Kisii-based side, Okoth scored twice, including in a 2-1 victory over Tusker back in January.

Before making the switch to the “Glamour Boys”, Okoth had a stellar campaign for Tusker Youth in Division 2, scoring 13 goals.

On joining the club, Okoth, who will battle it out for the role to lead our attack with Donald Ange, Ellis Asieche, Derrick Anami and Meshack Ochieno, said, “I am happy to be here and I want to help the team and repay the faith that the coach has shown in me. I didn’t have the best of seasons at Shabana in terms of scoring goals, but I learnt quite a lot there and I come into this new season as a different player.”

Okoth joins a long lineage of players from the Mathare North area to play for the club. Among them, Ezekiel Akwana, Eric Johanna and his brother Anthony Khadudu.
