Young centre back signs one-year deal to add steel to our defence

Mathare United is pleased to announce the signing of young defender Dennis Mukoye from Division 2 side Terror Squad. Blessed with a towering 6ft 3in frame, the centre-half, who hails from Mwiki Zone, signs a one-year deal and becomes our fifth signing heading into the 2025/2026 season.
Known to his peers as “Tolla”, Mukoye finally gets into the team after several unsuccessful trials.
He first tried out with the team in the 2022/2023 season when we suffered relegation from the Premier League, but was unable to make it into coach Boniface Omondi’s setup. The unrelenting 20-year-old again tried out with the team last year, this time under Coach John Kamau.
He spent the majority of last season training with the first team and did enough to earn himself this move after impressing with his technical ability and dedication.
On making his move, Mukoye said, “This is the stuff of dreams. I am over the moon. To be making such a big leap from Division 2 football to the Premier League cannot be put into words.
“I’d like to thank my coaches all through my journey to where I am, and a big thank you to Coach Kamau for instilling belief in me that I am capable of playing at such a high level.”
Mukoye will fight it out with Ian Omondi, Francis Kayugi and Cetric Asango for the chance to start our season opener in central defence.
