Former Mathare United winger Danson Kago returns to the club as Fitness Coach
Danson Kago has returned to the club, this time as an official and will be part of John Kamau’s technical team for the 2025/2026 season.
A former Mathare United player, Kago takes up the role of Fitness Coach and will work closely with Strength and Conditioning Coach Dismas Onyango in making the team fit and ready for what is expected to be a grueling and competitive season.
A MYSA graduate, Kago joined the team in 2020 and played three seasons. In his final season with the club, the former Kenyan international worked under John Kamau briefly and was on the scoresheet in his first match in charge as head coach.
The pair have a long shared history as they have previously worked together at Posta Rangers and the national team, Harambee Stars.
A one-time FKF Premier League champion, Kago joins a technical bench with familiar faces. Aside from Kamau, Onyango, and Julius Mativo, whom he worked under during his time here as a player, the Githurai native has also previously played alongside David Okello at Mathare, Tusker, Sofapaka and the national team.
